Support A Prisoners First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech (Donate If You Believe!)

Attention: Family, Friends, and Supporters of The MAEG Movement
Subject: Please Support a Prisoner's First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech by Funding the Prisoners Services Department of Madison Avenue Entertainment Group

Reason: Hoping You Will Support Us

Dear Supporters,

My name is Nicholas Zimmerman and I thank you for visiting the Madison Avenue Entertainment Group (M.A.E.G) Crowdfunding Campaign Page. I launched this campaign as a way to raise funds, awareness, and support for a prisoner's First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech. Being a wrongfully convicted prisoner, I never thought I would be 17 years into a 40-year sentence for a crime I didn't commit. But, being sent to prison has taught me just how vitally important it is for us to live in a society that openly supports the free expression and exchange of ideas. Had it not been for the First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech, I would not be able to expose the truth of my case to the public, speak out against injustice, or write about the unnecessary brutality and internal corruption of the Department of Corrections. And, for that matter, you would be deprived of your right to learn more about the M.A.E.G Movement and what we plan to accomplish.

                                                               ABOUT ME

Much has been said about the M.A.E.G Movement so, in the interest of brevity, I won't repeat everything here. However, I would like to give you a brief synopsis of my situation so you can have as much information as possible to guide you in your decision to fund the M.A.E.G campaign, and me.
In 2001, I was convicted of criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree. Nakia Stubbs, the complaining witness in my case, alleged that I attacked her with a gun on September 19th, 1998. She recanted her testimony years later and admitted Assistant Queens District Attorney, Leigh Bishop, forced her to identify me in the case. However, even with Nakia coming forward and admitting that she lied, I am still being held in prison for this charge (to learn more about the facts of this case, read, "Who Cares If He Is Innocent?" by Nedra James). While in prison, I was re-arrested and charged with being involved in an escape attempt conspiracy in which it was alleged that my then girlfriend, Jatanya Belnavis, and friends dressed up like correctional officers and broke into Sing Sing Correctional Facility to find me and help me escape. The testimony at trial confirmed that Jatanya and everyone involved in the case were held in jail until they agreed to testify to the District Attorney's myth of an escape attempt at Sing Sing C.F. (To learn more about the facts of this case, read, "HipHop Artist/Author/Pisoner Sues Dept of Corrections For $10 Million Dollars" by Nedra James). So, in all, I received 15 years for the Nakia Stubbs case and 25 years for the Sing Sing case, a combined total of 40 years for crimes I did not commit. I am asking for your assistance and funding in helping me get my cases overturned and to build a movement that can help other prisoners across America that are in the same predicament as I am.

                                                    WRONGFUL CONVICTIONS

In recent years, the wrongful conviction of innocent men and women have been surfacing in our mainstream media outlets. This is because the advent of social media has made it virtually impossible for corrupt officials to hide their misdeeds. Using his website as a political tool, Martin Tankleff was able to prove that he did not kill his parents; a crime for which he was convicted and sentenced to 50 years to life. Jabbar Collins used a prison phone to tape conversations with witnesses in his case to prove his innocence and the D.A.'s maliciousness to convict him (I did the same - see the conversation of Nakia and me on the homepage of www.FREENicholasZimmerman.com). Mumia Abu-Jamal was able to overturn his death penalty conviction by raising awareness about his case by writing political blogs for his websites, newspapers, books, and even hosting a radio show from prison. The governments of many states have been pushing to stop prisoners from having direct or indirect access to the Internet (e.g. see Arizona Statute ARIZ. REV. STAT. 31-2356). But there is an even bigger push from the left in favor of prisoners accessing the Internet with some restrictions (e.g. Clement v. California Dept of Corrections 220 Fsupp2D 1098, James L Espasito - "Virtual Freedom - Physical Confinement: An Analysis of Prisoner Use of The Internet" (See 26 New Eng. J. on Crim & Civ. Confinement 34), Titia A. Holtz - "Reaching Out From Behind Bars: The Constitutionality of Law Barring Prisoners From The Internet" (67 Brook. L. Rev. 855), Abu-Jamal v. Price 154 F3d 128).

                                                           ABOUT M.A.E.G.

Madison Avenue Entertainment Group is primarily a company that will handle the production, manufacturing, and distribution of books, music, media, film, clothing, etc... However, the company is also deeply rooted in hot-button political issues such as ending solitary confinement, New York State parole reform, prisoner voting rights, etc... Therefore, our pressing goal at the moment is the launch of the Prisoners Services Department of Madison Avenue Entertainment Group.                              Why My Products Are Important And Significant To Prisoners:

If you ask prisoners what are the three most important things they want right now, I'm sure one of those three things will be companionship, legal assistance/advocacy, and an outlet to get their book or writings published. I know this for sure because I'm a prisoner, and prisoners are always asking me for assistance or a contact that can help them in these areas. The new cata-book (catalog and a book, in one) entitled "Madison Avenue Entertainment Group Announces Its Prisoners Services Department" will address all prisoners' needs in these areas, and then some! The services that M.A.E.G. will provide prisoners is something that the incarcerated community has been looking for, but no other company has been able to provide. As you will see on the promotional materials, the company offers prisoners a wide range of services in the areas of: typing, graphic design, paralegal assistance, book publishing, pen-pals, Internet research, website construction, etc... These are all services that prisoners desperately seek on a daily basis, but cannot find. For the few companies that "claim" to do administrative work for prisoners, they either overcharge on services, have a very slow turnaround time, do sloppy work, or most times just break out with a prisoner’s money. I, like most prisoners, have been through this and now the incarcerated community is just looking for one place they can trust to handle all of their work for them. That place will be Madison Avenue Entertainment Group. We're Not Just A Company, We're A Movement! Madison Avenue Entertainment Group is not just about profit, we're also about generating revenue we can use to further advertise and push our political agendas. Our goal is to bring together prisoners, family members of prisoners and prisoner rights organizations in an attempt to form one strong coalition against injustice, oppression and brutality in America's prisons and criminal justice system. As stated above, we are also strong supporters of the First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech and so we have a subdivision of M.A.E.G. called Incarcerated Artist in which we will offer book publishing contracts, recording contracts, artistic contracts, etc... to prisoners for their talented works and they will be able to obtain royalties for their creations. To learn more about our plans for these subjects, read "MADISON AVENUE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP ANNOUNCES ITS PRISONERS SERVICES DEPARTMENT" and "THE F.O.C.I.S. MOVEMENT ANNOUNCES ITS CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION."

                                                  WHY YOU SHOULD FUND US

If you believe in the First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech for citizens in the free world, then you should most certainly fund and support M.A.E.G. and a prisoner's First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech. If there is EVER a place in the world that a human being would need to be able to speak out against injustice, corruption, and brutality, it is in prison! Once the prison doors close behind us, we are subject to every type of abuse and degradation you can think of. No matter if you're innocent or guilty, white or black, male or female; everyone gets assaulted the same. If you think the executives, superintendents and administrators that run the jails are here to protect us from abuse, think again. In the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, more than 500 immigrants were swept up, sent to prison and kept there on a "hold until clear" policy initiated by the U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and FBI Director Robert Mueller. Many of the men were arrested in their apartments because agents got a tip that "someone was speaking Arabic upstairs." Ashcroft and Mueller directed MDC Warden Dennis Hasty to subject the men to maximum pressure, physical abuse, repeated strip searches, sleep deprivation, and solitary confinement until they cooperated. In the end, none of the men were connected to or convicted of any act of terror and they were all released. Mueller, Ashcroft, and Hasty are, of course, denying any wrongdoing in the case (see "911 Detainees Ask Circuit to Revive Suit Against Top Officials," Mark Hamblett, New York Law Journal, May 2nd, 2014). Meanwhile, on the West Coast, the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California issued a scathing report on L.A. County Jails entitled, "Cruel and Unusual Punishment: How a Savage Gang of Deputies Control LA County Jails." The report stated that LASO deputies have attacked inmates for complaining about missing properly, for asking for medical treatment, for the nature of their offense, for the color of their skin, etc... They have beaten inmates in wheelchairs, then paraded them around the jail naked and placed them in cells to be sexually assaulted. It is often said that an organization's culture is determined from the top down; that is, subordinates take their cues from upper management. Just so happens the upper management in charge at the time was Paul K. Tanaka, the department's undersheriff. Tanaka reportedly sports a tattoo identifying himself as a one-time member of the Vikings, a deputy clique once described by a federal judge as a "neo-Nazi" org. He was also involved in what an L.A. police officer described as an "execution" of a 21-year-old Korean immigrant after he shot him 15 times during a car chase. His boss, Sheriff Leroy David "Lee" Baca, only fired Tanaka after the Baca report was published, the FBI launched an investigation, and the national media started publishing stories about the jail. (To learn more about Tanaka and Baca, read "Abuse In Los Angeles Jails Leads to Investigations, Lawsuits, and Eventual Reforms" by Mike Brodheim and Alex Friedmann, Prison Legal News, March 2013, Page 1 and "Los Angeles Jail Under Sheriff Steps Down," Prison Legal News, April 2013, Page 15). I too have witnessed all of the abuse DOCCS has to offer. In serving time in Attica Correctional Facility, which is the worst prison in America, (see “Attica Correctional Facility: A Report by The Correctional Association of New York," March 2005, CorrectionalAssociation.org) I was able to acknowledge all the intricate, internal conspiracies that it takes to run such a huge, corrupt institution. My findings on this subject will be forthcoming in my new book, "There's Something About Attica," Madison Avenue Entertainment Group, $19.95 Amazon.com). The M.A.E.G. Movement is attempting to give the incarcerated community a voice to speak out against injustice without having to resort to violence, but we need funding to get our project off the ground. Below, I define for you the funding that we need and how it will be spent.

                                                OUR FUNDING GOAL & EXPENSES

The Madison Avenue Entertainment Group is attempting to raise $200,000 in funding to launch the Prisoners Services Department. This department will handle all prisoners' administrative and paralegal needs, and at the lowest possible cost to the client. Our cost and fees involved in operating and promoting the department are as follows:

                                                  ADVERTISING BUDGET: $30,000

$30,000 will be used advertise our company, brand, products, and services on an international scale. We will start by placing ads in major magazines and newspapers such as USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Hip-Hop Weekly, Straight Stuntin, Prison Legal News, XXL, etc... The ads that will appear in the publications will be our MAEG PROMOTIONAL FLYER, BOOK FLYER, WOW GIRL FLYER, BOOK SELLING PROPOSAL, etc... We will also manufacture 100,000 copies of these promotional flyers that we will use to mail to our incarcerated communities to advertise the launch of MAEG and the Prisoners Services Department.

                                                  HOME OFFICE SPACE & EQUIPMENT:

We are looking to rent (or purchase) a big house somewhere in upstate, N.Y. that we can convert to a home office where immediate staff members can work, live, and raise their children in a decent environment. Working where we live will cut expenses on commuting, office rental space, electricity, etc. and staff members will be able to work longer hours from home. In addition, we will purchase printing equipment that will enable us to manufacture our own books, CDs, clothes, and promotional materials (in house) right from our home office. This will cut our manufacturing costs by 90% and we will be able to reinvest some of that money back into advertising.

                                                   VIDEO & AUDIO PRODUCTION:

We will produce several audio and video commercial scripts to be advertised on major channels such as B.E.T., Revolt, TNT, Hot 97, Power 105.9, etc... We have sixteen scripts in total to produce, but MY COMMERCIAL SCRIPT that I wrote to advertise "My Side of the Story - The Investigation - Part I" will be our first commercial production with intentions to complete three more in a month.

                                               COMPANY VEHICLES: $30,000 BUDGET

We will purchase three new conversion vans that will each be wrapped with our company advertisement that will promote our products and services. The vans will be used to pick up and deliver our products to our retail outlets and also to be stationed outside of hightraffic locations such as the Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden, New York University, Hofstra University, etc... Our staff will do promotions from the vans, driving up and down the East Coast to hand out our company flyers which will direct people to our website to join our movement.

     BUILDING MADISONAVENUEENTERTAINMENTGROUP.COM: $30,000 BUDGET

Building our corporate website will be a major undertaking in that it will house all of our subsidiary company websites such as: M.A.C.C. Company, F.O.C.I.S. Movement, Celebrity Posters, and FREENicholasZimmerman. In addition, our site will sell and promote thousands of other products from artists such as Jay-Z, BeyoncĂ©, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, etc... We will post exclusive video interviews with major recording artists, authors, advocates, prisoners, prisoners' family members, etc... Like most social media sites, subscribers will be able to have a profile on our site, but there is one key component to our social atmosphere that will make us stand out from sites like Facebook, Google Plus, etc... (I won't review our plans here, but trust me, it's a game changer!)

                                                                   THE CONCLUSION

The remaining $50,000 that we raise for our company will be spent on miscellaneous expenses, such as office supplies, gas and tolls, production and manufacturing equipment, payroll, food, shipping fees, stationery, travel expenses, and lodge, etc... It is important to note that the above budgets are only maximum estimates of what we might spend on marketing and expenses. Given the various inexpensive ways to promote products through social media, it is very likely that we may not need to spend the entire budget of every marketing and expense plan listed above. In this way, we may be able to issue refunds of unused monies to our supporters, but you will still be entitled to the parks we promised. It should be fully disclosed that Madison Avenue Entertainment Group is owned and operated by my family, friends, and some of my business associates and supporters I've met along my unfortunate journey through my prison sentence. As Executive Director, I direct and advise the company's operation for now, until I am released, at which time I will take full responsibility for the corporation. Because of my ability to launch and sustain a successful business, not only from prison, but from the depths of Solitary Confinement, I have encountered and been subjected to years of hatred, jealousy, abuse, ridicule, retaliation, harassment, property destruction, etc..., etc... I have recounted some of the torturous tactics DOCCS has leveraged against me in "Recent Changes in the Public's Perception of Solitary Confinement." I ask that you take some time to read this exposĂ© as it will bring you up to speed on my fight to exercise my First Amendment Right to Freedom of Speech. The people responsible for helping me launch this campaign are: M.A.E.G. Crowdfunding Campaign Manager, Luis Candelario (LCandelario1937@gmail.com), M.A.E.G. Assistant Director, Desiray Smith (DesiraySmith@gmail.com or Desiray@FREENicholasZimmerman.com), M.A.E.G. Assistant Director, Joseph Williams (Joseph.Williams9210@gmail.com), and M.A.E.G. Administrative Assistant, Paula Kyabaggu Makuma (P.Makuma@gmail.com). All of these people have spent an incredible amount of time and effort in the FREE Nicholas Zimmerman campaign as well, and I am forever in debt to them for it. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments regarding this company, you can contact any of the above staff members, or you can contact me directly at DearMrZimmerman@gmail.com or via mail at Nicholas Zimmerman/02A1663/Clinton Correctional Facility, P.O.
